2014 is shaping up to be a big year for The Milk Carton Kids. The Californian folk duo have announced an extensive North American tour hot off the heels of a much celebrated appearance on television review, Austin City Limits. Not only that but new album The Ash & Clay has received near universal critical acclaim and now been nominated for a Grammy for Best Folk Album.
Many of The Milk Carton Kids’ shows have already sold out prompting the boys to add more dates and larger venues to their already exhaustive road trip. Live their songs come to life with beautiful, flat picked guitars, interweaving harmonies and a surprising amount of laughs. The Milk Carton Kids are getting a reputation for raising a smile or two, both with their clever lyrics and friendly stage patter.
As well as the Austin City Limits appearance, Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan also appeared on the Another Day Another Time; Celebrating The Music Of Inside Llweyn Davis special and appear to be just one of a number of folk groups who could stand to ride on the coat tails of that films success. 2014 could be a big year for traditional and contemporary folk music and a big year for The Milk Carton Kids.
