Casablanca – Yes

Casablanca released their debut single, Yes, on September 17. Following in the footsteps of Bombay Bicycle Club,  Cajun Dance Party and Theme Park, this five piece indie-pop band sure have a lot to offer.

Previously, Casablanca were known as Lo-Fi Culture Scene where the quartet of Jacob Wheldon (vocals/guitar), Callum Akass (bass), Tom Herzberg (guitar) and Tom MacColl (drums) soon found themselves performing alongside the likes of Foals, Bloc Party and The Maccabees. They even released a few singles before they took time away from their musical careers to finish up their education as they were only the tender ages of 15 and 16 when Lo-Fi Culture Scene started.

Returning as the new outfit, Casablanca, they have just released their debut single, Yes, on London imprint Party Politics. With airy, pleasant and relaxed vocals from Wheldon and great background music from the rest of the band, Yes is a fantastic track full of everything that gets your feet tapping, your head nodding and your heart racing.

With dancefloor drum beats, this track isn’t far off something you would expect from Friendly Fires. If you like Friendly Fires then Casablanca are the next band for you to investigate.

Yes is available as a digital download now.
