This Many Boyfriends press shot

Leeds’ favourite This Many Boyfriends are back with their new single, (I Should Be A) Communist set for release on May 21.

The band claim (I Should Be A) Communist is about their bass player, money and caridgans. This Many Boyfriends had this to say: “We say it’s a pop song about big stuff, the big stuff being buying superfluous, dumb things when you have no money. And we should make it clear from the off that’s it’s not really an academic study about the merits of Communism, it’s a silly song with a guitar solo. Karl Marx, avert your ears!”

The track has been produced by The Cribs’ Ryan Jarman lending it to be an extremely over zealous indie song.

(I Should Be A) Communist will be released on May 21 on limited 7″ red vinyl and digital download.

This Many Boyfriends will also be doing two single launch parties this month. Dates are below:

19th: LONDON, The Waiting Room (Free Entry)
20th: LEEDS, Oporto (Free Entry)
