Juffage Releases New Single, Sonic Cauldron

Juffage is Jeff T. Smith, a solo sound artist and multi-instrumentalist from Leeds UK, via Chicago, Illinois.

Through relentless touring in the U.S., U.K. and Europe, performing over 350 self-booked gigs, Jeff has established a reputation for his sonically powerful and physically captivating live shows.

Now he has recently released his latest offering, Sonic Cauldron, which sees him collaborate with Katie Harkin from Sky Larkin, Tom Evans from Vessels and Jenna Isherwood from Invisible Cities. He has also released a live video of the trio performing the song at Left Bank in Leeds.

His debut album Semicircle was released to widespread critical acclaim from the NME, Loud & Quiet, Drowned in Sound, Bearded Magazine and others.

A recording enthusiast at heart, Jeff has spent time in some of Chicago’s finest studios including Electrical Audio (with Steve Albini) and Engine Studios (with Brian Deck). His compelling live performances bring these multi-layered recordings to the stage, utilising drums, basses, guitars, cassettes, seamless live-looping and super-colossal multi-tasking to construct complex yet surprising catchy pop songs.

Currently recording his second LP for London-label Function Records, Jeff has collaborated with Katie Harkin (Sky Larkin, Wild Beasts) and Tom Evans (Vessels). Previously, he has shared the stage with artists such as Dosh, Balmorhea, Mount Eerie, Cloud Nothings, Portico Quartet, Three Trapped Tigers and Nat Baldwin (Dirty Projectors). After an extended period away writing, Jeff is returning to gigs with bags full of new material in 2014.
