Introducing…Death At Sea

Death At Sea are one of the most exciting new bands to emerge from Liverpool in some time. Awash with the depth and danger of maritime nightmares, they’re the place where coruscating noise meets haunting pop melody and engrossing lyrical honesty.

After causing a commotion with their debut single Drag/Selfless and Haim tour support a year or so ago, the quartet have been quietly honing their craft and are excited to reveal some new music and live dates.

Glimmer made it’s entrance to the world on John Kennedy’s XFM show on Tuesday night and sees Death At Sea channel a slower, moodier and more introverted sound, contrasting next to the raw energy of their previous songs.

Backed with another brand new track entitled Shy Kids, the 7″ will be released through Kissability on May 5 with digital downloads available from April 7. Death at Sea will also be playing this year’s Liverpool Sound City and Great Escape Festivals plus many more dates to be announced in support of their forthcoming debut album.

These new tracks continue to reveal tangible influences from Death At Sea’s diet of luminaries such as Echo & the Bunnymen, The Strokes and Pavement yet the quartet’s sound is decidedly 2014 and Glimmer marks the start of what looks to be a very exciting year for them.

Death At Sea are Ralph (lead vocals, guitar) Sam (bass, backing vocals) Rory (guitar, backing vocals) and Simon (drums).

You can catch Death at Sea live on the following dates:
16 April – The Bell Jar, Sheffield
3 May – Liverpool Sound City
9 May – Blind Tiger Club, Great Escape Brighton
