Canadian musician, illustrator and mountain dweller, Chad VanGaalen is set to release Shrink Dust, his fifth album, on CD/LP/DL on April 28 in the UK and April 29 in the US via Sub Pop. The album will also be available in Canada via Flemish Eye. Shrink Dust was produced by Chad VanGaalen at his Yoko Eno home studio in Calgary, Alberta, and features new single, Where Are You.
You can now watch the video for Where Are You? which features Chad’s animations from over the years. Pitchfork described the track today, saying “…it features plenty of tension and warped-production sonics that have since become VanGaalen’s calling card.”
Pre-orders of Shrink Dust via iTunes began on Tuesday February 4 and received an instant download of Where Are You? The album is also available for pre-order at Sub Pop’s Chad VanGaalen artist page. People who pre-order Shrink Dust on LP at subpop.com will receive the limited Loser Edition of the album on coloured vinyl. Additionally, there are three new items featuring Chad’s artwork to mention: A booklet of original artwork featuring crazy frisbee moves available with all pre-orders (while supplies last) and two new T-shirt designs available to purchase with CD and LP bundles.
Chad VanGaalen will announce European tour dates very soon.
