The Milk Carton Kids Announce String Of Special Performances

The indie folk duo the Milk Carton Kids from Eagle RockCalifornia, are back with a series of intriguing events this Autumn. The renowned Los Angeles duo consisting of Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan will perform on 29 September in Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating The Music Of ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’. The concert, a benefit organised by The Coen Brothers and T-Bone Burnett, will take place at New York City’s Town Hall and feature music inspired by the Coen Brothers’ new film which is set in the 1960’s Greenwich Village folk music scene. Also performing at Another Day, Another Time are The Avett Brothers, Joan Baez, Marcus Mumford, Conor Oberst, Patti Smith, Gillian Welch, Jack White and more.

After the Another Day, Another Time concert, The Milk Carton Kids will be making their third appearance as musical guests on Garrison Keillor’s widely popular radio show A Prairie Home Companion on 26 October in Memphis, Tenessee.

Finally, the duo will return to Los Angeles to perform two different types of shows at Largo. The Milk Carton Kids Revue on 12 November will be a collaborative performance with special guests highlighting the diverse range of artists the band has worked and toured with over its short three year span. This is the Milk Carton Kids’ second Revue at Largo with past guests including Ed Helms, Joe Henry, Over the Rhine, Jill Sobule, Joe Purdy, John C. Reilly and others. On 16 November, the Milk Carton Kids will take to the same stage as headliners playing two sets to celebrate the band’s year of touring.

NPR Music described The Milk Carton Kids as “Gillian Welch & David Rawlings meets Simon & Garfunkel with a splash of The Everly Brothers“. This really does sum them up – clever, enchanting, evocative – a delight.

The Milk Carton Kids have also recently announced a series of North American headline dates running from September to early November playing in further support of their third album The Ash & Clay which was released earlier in this year.
