Canadian producer Doldrums (AKA Airick Woodhead) is releasing the three track EP for Egypt on June 4 through Souterrain Transmissions.
The 12″ single contains an extended version of Egypt, Jump Up and Copper Girl. With Egypt being the main release it seems a shame to say that track two, Jump Up, is in fact a much more interesting song. There are a lot of elements in it that can be argued to have been influenced by the likes of Beck.
Track three, Copper Girl, is the darkest track off the EP making it a perfect blend of emotional electronica starting with the cultural influences found in Egypt, the upbeat and cheery melodies in Jump Up and ending on the dark dub-step inspired rhythms of Copper Girl.
Egypt is released on June 4. You can download second track Jump Up here.
