Seth Lakeman – Blacksmith’s Prayer

Seth Lakeman released his sixth album, Tales from the Barrel House, on Friday. To celebrate its release, he’s revealed a new video for another track from the record, Blacksmith’s Prayer.

Blacksmith’s Prayer is a solid folk track which uses sounds reminiscent of a blacksmith’s workshop to create an atmospheric song.

Tales from the Barrel House took Seth back to his Devon roots and saw him record the album in workshops located in Morwellham Quay, a mining port on the north bank of the River Tamar.

Using only one sound field microphone, Lakeman wrote all the songs and played all the musical accompaniments himself. On top of this, he also mixed and produced the record.

Seth Lakeman has also produced a short documentary detailing the process of recording Tales from the Barrel House. You can watch it here.
