Brighton based trio, The Tall Ships
Brighton based trio, The Tall Ships, have announced more shows leading on from their rather hectic summer festival schedule.
They are due to fly over to New York to take part in the CMJ Music Marathon as well as having just performed this side of the Atlantic in a few shows dotted around the country.
The boys are also busy in the studio recording their debut album which is being produced by Jamie Field (Tubelord, Colour).
Having only released their first single earlier this year, The Tall Ships have made quite an impression. With their single immediately selling out and already having played such gigs as 2000 Trees, Bestival, Hop Farm and Live at Leeds, this is a band which doesn’t deserve to be brushed aside.
Check out a range of their tracks here.
You can catch The Tall Ships live in London at The Lexington on October 29.
Folk sensation Emily Barker is releasing her third album, Almanac, in November. She is also going on her biggest headline tour this month with her band The Red Clay Halo before she spends November on tour supporting Frank Turner.
To celebrate the news of Emily Barker’s soon to be album release and tour, some lovely PR material has been posted out.

After the release of Vessel last month Zola Jesus has now revealed her official video for the track.
Vessel is the first video to be taken off her new album, Conatus. It was directed by Jacqueline Castel and filmed in the New Mexican desert. It was inspired by the Sphinx moth who passes through metamorphosis in underground chambers and whose natural habitat is the desert.
The video sees Zola Jesus in dramatic form.
Dennis Hopper Choppers PR shot
Born in what he calls the “sleepy seaside town” of Worthing, West Sussex, who would have thought Ben Hillier of Dennis Hopper Choppers would be producing such alternative folk and country music?
Following the release of their second album, Be Ready, in July of this year, Dennis Hopper Choppers have now unveiled their new single, Girl Walked Out Of Town, along with the official video (below).
Differentiating enormously in style from their earlier single release, All Could Come True, Girl Walked Out Of Town has a much heavier feel to it. At the beginning there seems to be a lot of angst and violence which slowly blends back into the softer side of the band.
Check it out here.
Girl Walked Out Of Town is released November 7 on ITunes and other online outlets.
After the release of his album, Towards The Sun, the critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, Alexi Murdoch is returning to Europe next month for three UK dates.
Sounding like he could be the reincarnation of John Martyn, Murdoch has one of the most pleasant and easy to listen to voices ever heard.
He’s a true musician producing fantastically written songs with soothing vocals against the nakedness of an acoustic guitar.
Take a listen:
Alexi Murdoch can be seen on the following dates:
24 November: Brighton, The Haunt
25 November: London, Union Chapel
26 November: Glasgow, Captain’s Rest
You know the Match.com advert with the catchy song about the girl on the platform? Well I’m going to introduce you to the person who sings it, Matthew P.
The song is called She Began To Dance and it’s the musician’s next single.
You can watch the official video here.
I’ve also found a great acoustic version of what looks like him singing it at home. His voice is perfect and can captivate you even when it’s just him and his banjo performing to the camera.
Matthew P also released a free 4 track EP titled Breakfast EP earlier this year which can be downloaded from matthewpmusic.com if you’re interested.
